Alexandria Christmas Parade

Join us on Jackson Street in Alexandria to kick off the holiday season with the festive Alexandria Christmas Parade. This parade features cheerful holiday floats, enchanting performances, and a special appearance by Santa Claus himself as the Grand Marshal. Don’t miss out on the holiday magic at the Alexandria Christmas Parade!

Christmas in the Country

From 4:00PM to 8:00PM

Christmas in the Country is a “Hallmark Christmas Movie style Christmas festival” with a focus on the true meaning of Christmas. We have live music, a live nativity, hot dogs, jambalaya, funnel cakes, hot chocolate, carriage rides, and much more. And there is no cost because it is our church’s gift to you!

Holiday Light Safari

Create wonderful holiday memories with a casual stroll through the Zoo’s colorful environment sparkling with thousands of lights and whimsical lighted animal figures.

Open 5:30 pm. Last Entry 8 pm. Closed 9 pm.

Holiday Light Safari is a separately-ticketed event. The zoo closes at 4:30 pm (last admission 3:30 pm) and re-opens as Holiday Light Safari at 5:30 pm. FOTAZ Memberships and other Zoo Passes are not valid during Holiday Light Safari. In the event of inclement weather, the decision to cancel an evening of Holiday Light Safari will be announced via the Zoo’s Facebook page.

The Arts Council of Central Louisiana brings you DRUMLine Live! Holiday Spectacular as part of the Performing Art Series.
The “DRUMLine Live Holiday Spectacular” takes you on an unforgettable musical journey through the most beloved chart-topping holiday classics. Imagine the festive sounds of holiday cheer combining Gospel, Jazz, Soul, Motown rhythms, and The Nutcracker Suite mixed with a hip-hop beat and the driving force of a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) marching band. You have to see the “DRUMLine Live Holiday Spectacular” to experience the magic and musicianship!
DRUMLine Live’s dazzling vocalists and talented musicians, coupled with energetic choreography, spectacular lighting, and beautiful holiday costumes, make this Holiday Spectacular one of the coolest, most exciting, and dynamic shows EVER!! Wait until you see our show-stopping unique version of “The Little Drummer Boy,” highlighted by the creative sights and sounds of the HBCU drumline. From the modern sounds of Mariah Carey’s #1 holiday hit, “All I want for Christmas Is You,” Ariana Grande’s, “Santa Tell Me,” and Justin Bieber’s, “Mistletoe” to the classic favorites, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Santa Clause is Coming to Town,” and “Jingle Bells,” this rockin’ Holiday Spectacular will have audiences around the globe dancing in the aisles. Our incredible musicianship and talented performers will fill you with holiday cheer from the first tap of the drum to the very last song of the show!

Named after a Native American tribe, Natchitoches (pronounced Nack-a-tish ) is the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase Territory. Since 1927, we are home to one of the oldest community-based holiday celebrations in the country. Starting as a one-day festival, the Natchitoches Christmas Festival has evolved into a six-week long Christmas Season. The Christmas Season begins on the Saturday before Thanksgiving and concludes on January the 6th, the Epiphany. Over 300,000 lights and 100 plus set pieces are on display every night at dusk.
