Alexandria, Pineville and Ball all are asking trick-or-treaters to hit the streets between
5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, but most of the parish’s smaller communities and
unincorporated areas will actually observe the holiday on Saturday, Oct. 30.
Rapides Parish Police Jury President Richard Billings requested that all citizens in
unincorporated areas begin trick-or-treating after 7:30 p.m. Oct. 30.
Citizens in Cheneyville, Forest Hill, Glenmora, Lecompte and Woodworth also will celebrate
Halloween on Oct. 30, with times ranging from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is no set time for
McNary residents, who can choose to celebrate the holiday at their own discretion.
Forest Hill’s Halloween observance will take place at the Wanda Johnson Poole Memorial
Park from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., while Woodworth’s will begin at 6 p.m. at John Davidson
Memorial Park.
Cheneyville residents are asked to trick-or-treat from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Glenmora residents from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Lecompte residents from 5:30 p.m. to
7:30 p.m.
Although Pineville is observing Halloween on Oct. 31, the city also will host its fifth annual
Fall Family Festival at Kees Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28.
The festival, which is free to the public, will feature food, candy, games, arts and crafts.
